Umoja Gardens is a collection of small gardens located in McLean County, Illinois totaling six and a half acres.

No chemical pest control or fertilizers are used to grow our produce.

At Umoja Gardens, we believe the nutritional value of food is largely based on its vitamin and mineral content.

As a result, our farming techniques enhance the fertility of the soil, rather than depleting it of vital minerals.

In this regard, organically grown food is superior in mineral content to foods grown by current conventional methods, which exhaust soil and can only return a limited amount of minerals back to the soil via chemical fertilizers.

Our techniques also prevent soil erosion, are sustainable, and are environmentally friendly.
